According to the Altares study on business failures in France, the number of bankruptcies reached a high level in the first quarter of 2022, up 31.7% compared to the first quarter of 2021. The number of companies under judicial review has risen by 46.6% over the same period. Nearly 94% of judicial proceedings affect companies with less than 10 employees, while companies with 10 to 49 employees are affected with an increase of 56% compared to the first quarter of 2021.
The same study establishes that catering and services to individuals are the most strongly affected sectors.
